Contract (13 weeks with possible extension) | Rotating Days and Nights (3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-volume Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit managing complex medicine, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients at a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio
• Perform and oversee telemetry monitoring, rapid response and code team participation, and charge nurse duties as required
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, heparin protocols, and blood product administration
• Provide tracheostomy management, wound care including wound vac, surgical drain care, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy
• Deliver orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement post-operative care including feeding tube care and management
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC and adhere to isolation precaution protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license – must be in hand at time of submission, no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing
• Demonstrated experience managing a 1:6 patient ratio
• Charge nurse experience required
• Active BLS and NIHSS certifications – valid NIHSS must be included at time of submission
• EPIC charting experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pacemaker management (temporary and permanent), phlebotomy, and starting IVs
• Familiarity with orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and complex long-term patient care
• Prior travel nursing experience; first-time travelers with qualifying experience will be considered
• Comfort with floating to other units as needed within a large tertiary care hospital setting
