Contract (13 weeks with possible extension) | Nights, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-volume Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit managing a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• Monitor telemetry on the unit and participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activations as needed
• Manage and care for patients with complex diagnoses including orthopedic overflow, surgical, and long-term medical cases
• Perform and oversee clinical skills including central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, wound care/wound vac, and tracheostomy management
• Serve in a charge nurse capacity as required and float to other units as needed
• Document all patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse license — must be in hand at time of submission, no exceptions
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience with demonstrated experience managing a 1:6 patient ratio
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications — valid NIHSS must be included at time of submission
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records — hard requirement
• Charge nurse experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pacemaker management (temporary and permanent), high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and advanced airway/oxygen delivery systems
• Background in orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and surgical drain management
• Experience with phlebotomy, IV insertion, and peripheral/PICC line care and management
• Familiarity with isolation precautions and feeding tube care and management
