Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical
Location
Uniontown, PA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6–7 nurse-to-patient ratio across private-room settings
- Care for a diverse patient population including post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative, hospice, end-of-life, and low-volume inpatient chemotherapy patients
- Monitor and manage patients on remote telemetry (monitored off-unit by a monitor technician); no on-unit strip reading required
- Administer drips including Heparin and comfort-measure medications as indicated; no cardiac drips required
- Support patients on BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow oxygen, all managed in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
- Adhere to infection control protocols, including the ability to be assigned to both standard and isolation-designated patient cohorts simultaneously
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — any history of hits or actions on professional license must be disclosed at time of submission
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Comfort with Medical Surgical patient populations including palliative, hospice, and isolation-designated patients
- Ability to meet every-other-weekend (Saturday/Sunday) requirements and two Friday shifts per scheduling period
- Willingness to float to other Medical Surgical units as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Medical Surgical setting with post-surgical or orthopedic patient populations
- Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring workflows
- Experience with dialysis, palliative care, or end-of-life patient care
