Registered Nurse – Neuro/PCU (Stepdown)

Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Neuro/PCU stepdown unit with patient ratios of 1:4–5
• Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate care and neurological observation
• Perform telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to cardiac changes
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including like units as required
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic electronic health records
• Participate in emergency response team assignments as needed, including during hurricane season (June–November)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Neuro/PCU or comparable stepdown setting
• Active South Carolina RN license or valid Compact license required prior to start date
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Telemetry competency required
• No first-time travelers; prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with Epic charting system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with neurological patient populations in an intermediate or stepdown care environment
• Familiarity with flexible scheduling and the ability to adapt to unit staffing needs
• Prior travel nursing assignments in a similar clinical setting
