Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Stepdown)

Contract | Travel | Days | 13-Week Assignment | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a standard ratio of 4:1 (up to 5:1 when stretched)
• Perform neurological and spinal assessments, including neuro and spinal checks and C-collar and TLSO brace management
• Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement
• Administer blood transfusions and operate equipment including IV pumps, Skylift, and patient lifts
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
• Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed; wear navy blue scrubs per dress code

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of PCU, IMC, or stepdown nursing experience
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Demonstrated experience in neuro and trauma care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong background in neurological and trauma patient populations
• Experience with tracheostomy care and management
• Team-oriented, patient-focused approach to care delivery
