Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups on a 60-bed Medical/Telemetry unit with a 1:5–6 patient ratio
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
- Operate unit equipment including bladder scanners, vein finders, IV pumps, and wound vacs; document care using EPIC EMR
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
- Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit; participate in full-week day-shift orientation prior to beginning night shift
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license eligible for or active in the state of Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift; ability to lift, push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. and tolerate high-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Experience with telemetry monitoring in a Medical Surgical setting
- Demonstrated teamwork, dependability, and flexibility in a fast-paced inpatient environment
