Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location

Asheville, North Carolina

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with up to 101 beds and patient ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
  • Utilize Cerner for all clinical documentation throughout the patient visit
  • Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors in accordance with unit protocols
  • Deliver patient-centered care following AIDET standards, maintaining updated patient boards and communicating with patients throughout their visit
  • Float to all sections within the Emergency Department as needed to meet departmental staffing requirements
  • Collaborate with techs, cardiac monitoring unit staff, triage personnel, and unit clerks across day and night operations

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience in an Emergency Room setting
  • Experience in a Level II Trauma Center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits)
  • Active RN licensure
  • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
  • ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback; flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Previous experience within an HCA-affiliated facility
  • Familiarity with serving diverse, multicultural patient populations
  • Experience with scheduling flexibility in high-demand emergency department environments
