Key Responsibilities
- Under immediate to general supervision, delivers specialized radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations to aid medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions.
- Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physician-ordered procedures.
- Utilizes specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines.
- Conducts post-procedure review to confirm all required elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality meets department protocols and applicable accreditation standards.
- Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, enters technical findings, and prepares studies for physician reporting.
- Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and user maintenance per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a cardiovascular specialty, OR graduate of a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty.
- Must meet applicant eligibility requirements for MRI Certification; certification must be achieved within 12 months of hire date.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, radiologic technologies, and associated terminology.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, follow instructions, and consistently report to work as scheduled.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and exercise sound judgment in a variety of care settings.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
- Experience working with pediatric and/or adult patient populations in acute inpatient, outpatient, or diagnostic care settings.
