Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department serving all age ranges, including neonates
• Manage and assess patients presenting with conditions including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness, and respiratory arrest
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment including Belmont rapid infuser in trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity patient groups
• Document accurately and efficiently using the EPIC electronic health record system
• Float within the Emergency Department specialty as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact License at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room RN experience; travel experience required (first-time travelers considered with 5+ years of experience)
• BLS certification – American Heart Association only
• ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
• PALS certification – American Heart Association only
• NIH Stroke Scale, CPI (Calm Every Storm online version accepted), and TNCC certifications required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in an emergency department setting
• Experience with high-acuity patient populations including trauma and cardiac arrest
• Familiarity with EPIC charting in an emergency department environment
