Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Schedule / Job Type

Contract, Full-Time (1.0 FTE), Onsite, Rotating Shift — includes weekends, after-hours, and on-call availability

Key Responsibilities

• Performs general nuclear medicine examinations, therapeutic procedures, and PET/CT patient exams in a hospital-based, acute care environment
• Conducts nuclear medicine quality control measures and carries out procedures as requested by medical staff
• Assists radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures
• Completes documentation required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams
• Verifies written and electronic orders and related health information to ensure timely performance and reporting of nuclear medicine exams
• Completes appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt, return, decay, and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with state and federal regulations

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAHEA-accredited Allied Health Education program or equivalent
• ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) certification
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Ability to work a rotating schedule including weekends, after-hours shifts, and on-call as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• One (1) or more years of post-graduate work experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• Experience in a hospital-based or acute care imaging environment
