Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Stepdown (36hr Nights)

Newton, MA
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift | 3x12-hour shifts (7:15 PM – 7:15 AM) | Holiday and weekend rotation required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical / Stepdown unit during overnight shifts
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting changes to the appropriate care team members
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Participate in holiday and weekend rotation as required by unit scheduling
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Massachusetts
- Current BLS certification
- Experience in a Medical Surgical, IMC, PCU, or Stepdown setting
- Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts on a rotating schedule including holidays and weekends
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an Intermediate Care or Progressive Care Unit environment
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in an acute care setting
