Job Title

Travel RN – Charge Nurse, Progressive Care Unit / Clinical Decision Unit

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive admitted patients directly from the Emergency Department and complete Admission Assessments, Medication Reconciliation, and initiation of acute care orders
  • Serve as Charge Nurse for a 40-bed Progressive Care / Clinical Decision Unit focused on ED decompression and enhanced patient throughput
  • Provide care for patients across a wide variety of diagnoses in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment with patient ratios of 1:5 (Step-Down) or 1:6 (Med-Surg)
  • Utilize Baxter IV pumps and document patient care using the Cerner electronic health record system
  • Float to other units within skill set as needed and assist with holiday coverage
  • Prioritize patient safety, family experience, and care quality in alignment with unit standards

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry (remote), and/or Step-Down (PCU) settings
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Proficiency with Cerner documentation system
  • Positive, team-focused attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Charge Nurse experience or demonstrated willingness to take on a charge role
  • Well-rounded clinical background across multiple diagnoses and patient populations
  • Additional nursing certifications beyond the required minimums
