Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC / IICU (Intermediate Intensive Care)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 or 26 weeks available) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult patients including trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases requiring monitoring or interventions every 1–2 hours
  • Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
  • Manage titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips and administer medications per protocol
  • Operate and monitor ventilators and specialized equipment including ceiling lifts and patient re-positioners
  • Receive and stabilize direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams
  • Float to other qualified units or campuses as needed based on census demands

Required Qualifications

  • Active South Carolina RN license or active multistate (compact) RN license required prior to start
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 completed travel assignment (first-time travelers must have 3 years of specialty experience with critical care background)
  • Previous IICU or ICU experience with a patient acuity ratio of at least 1:3 required
  • Proficiency in ventilator management required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience in progressive care settings such as PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown will be considered
  • Familiarity with Magnet-recognized hospital environments and teaching medical center workflows
  • Experience with neurology, cardiac, stroke, or vascular patient populations
