Travel RN – PCU / Stepdown (IMC)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday Support Required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow unit with patient ratios of 2:1 (ICU) and 4–5:1 (PCU)
- Perform and support advanced hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and critical care pharmacology including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
- Assist providers with bedside procedures as needed, including chest tube insertion and intubations
- Manage central lines and Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) equipment; document care using Cerner EMR
- Conduct bedside shift reports as required by hospital policy; relief charge nurses are expected to perform nurse leader rounding
- Float to other units as required per facility floating policy
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure eligible to practice in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience in a large facility
- Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Experience with critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) and advanced life support equipment
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records documentation
- Prior travel nursing experience in a PCU or stepdown setting
