Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Step-Down)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Receive admitted patients from the Emergency Department and complete thorough Admission Assessments
• Perform Medication Reconciliation and initiate acute care orders in support of ED decompression and enhanced patient throughput
• Provide care for patients across a wide variety of diagnoses in a fast-paced Clinical Decision and Direct Admit environment
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 (Step-Down) or 1:6 (Med-Surg), utilizing Cerner for documentation and Baxter IV pumps for patient care
• Float to other units within skill set as needed and assist with holiday coverage
• Uphold patient safety standards and contribute to a positive patient and family experience

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down (PCU) settings
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation system
• Positive, team-focused attitude with the ability to thrive in a high-acuity, quick-turnover environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to take on a charge role
• Additional clinical certifications beyond the required minimums
• Experience with Baxter IV pump systems
