Registered Nurse – ICU (Travel Contract)
Location
Fredericksburg, TX
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed ICU with patient ratios of 1:4–5
- Perform and assist with procedures including STEMI protocol, Stroke protocol, Conscious Sedation, Chest Tubes, Codes, and Intubation
- Operate and monitor equipment including Philips monitors, Lifepak 20e defibrillator, Lucas device, GE EKG machine, and Verathon bladder scanner
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR
- Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary team members across day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to respond with a sense of urgency
- Friendly, compassionate, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in a charge nurse role demonstrating independent thinking and multitasking ability
- Familiarity with Meditech Expanse EMR
