Job Title

Travel RN – PACU (Pre-Op / Post-Op)

Location

Elko, Nevada

Schedule / Job Type

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in Pre-Op, PACU (Phase I), and Phase II recovery settings across a 10-bed surgical unit
Care for a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric, including cases in ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics, GYN, OB, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, and Cath Lab
Prepare and recover patients undergoing procedures such as total joints, laparoscopic surgeries, thyroidectomy, hysterectomy, C-section, cardioversion, and pacemaker placement
Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 in Pre-Op and Phase II, and 1:2 in PACU
Fulfill call requirements including one weekday call shift per week and one weekend call shift per month
Float within the surgical department as needed and utilize EHR systems including Medhost and CQI

Required Qualifications

Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II recovery
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
Proficient IV insertion skills
Ability to work variable 10-hour shifts and fulfill on-call obligations
Willingness and ability to float within the surgical department

Preferred Experience / Skills

Previous travel nursing assignment experience
Prior experience in an acute, rural hospital setting
Familiarity with Medhost or similar EHR platforms
