Registered Nurse – ICU
Location
Rio Rancho, NM
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-Hour Shifts) | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week available | 10-week minimum contract
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting managing a mixed patient population including ICU, sub-acute, and floor-status patients
- Perform and assist with advanced procedures including arterial line management, central line care, CRRT, chest tube insertion/removal, and ventilator management
- Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and hemodynamic parameters using FloTrac/Vigileo and related equipment
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, IV insulin protocols, and continuous IV sedation
- Manage complex patient diagnoses including sepsis/septic shock, ARDS, renal failure, DKA, respiratory failure, and multi-system organ failure
- Float occasionally to other inpatient units on a rotation basis as needed to meet facility needs
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Mexico (license may be pending at time of submission)
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (RQI certifications not accepted)
- Ability to work every other weekend with a minimum of 13 weekend shifts
- Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles (Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year's Eve & New Year's Day)
- COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale and TNCC certifications preferred
- Experience with Cerner charting system
- Familiarity with specialized equipment including CRRT (NxStage), Edwards FloTrac EV1000, Arctic Sun, and Phillips Monitors
