PCU / Stepdown Registered Nurse
Location
Columbia, MO
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 36 Hours Per Week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown/PCU setting managing a diverse patient population including surgical, medical, and neurological cases
- Titrate vasoactive drips including neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem
- Manage and monitor advanced vascular access including IV lines, PICC lines, central lines, A-lines, and dialysis fistulas
- Operate and monitor respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, optiflow, vapotherm, and airvo devices
- Manage epidural/PCA pumps, feeding tubes, and wound vac therapy
- Float to other units as required
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
- Proficiency with IV insertion, PICC/central line management, vascular device access and care, dialysis fistula care, and A-line management
- Competency with CPAP/BiPAP and trach care
- Experience with epidural/PCA pumps, feeding tubes, and wound vac
- Familiarity with common unit equipment including bladder scanners, IV pumps, and SCDs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in both ICU and PCU settings strongly preferred
- CVP monitoring experience
- Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG, perform sheath removal, and assist with cardioversion/defibrillation
