Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Pediatric

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients ages 0–18, including stable medical-surgical, intermediate, and ICU feeder-grower overflow cases
• Manage a variety of diagnoses including orthopedic surgical, appendectomies, GI conditions, respiratory illness, diabetes, seizures, and failure to thrive
• Titrate drips including Tylenol, Keppra, and Insulin as required by patient condition
• Collaborate closely with one other RN per shift in a small, self-directed unit environment with no dedicated charge nurse
• Support pre-operative and second-phase recovery care for select pediatric patients
• Float to NICU and newborn nursery as census fluctuates, and assist with 1:1 patient sitting as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric and/or Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Demonstrated ability to titrate drips independently

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PICU experience strongly preferred
• NICU experience preferred
• Experience with insulin drip titration
• Strong independent practice skills and excellent communication abilities
