Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms using automated telemetry and EKG equipment
- Provide direct nursing care to acutely ill patients, including those stepping down from intensive care settings
- Assess and manage patients with heart disease and other serious cardiac or medical conditions requiring close observation
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions in a timely manner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record system
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Telemetry setting
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) training required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
- Background in a tertiary or teaching hospital environment
