Job Title
Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Intermediate Care Unit)

Wheeling, WV

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit managing diagnoses including chest pain, rule-out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and Tikosyn therapy patients
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently using Nihon Kohden monitoring equipment
- Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
- Manage radial bands and perform groin checks for post-cath patients; does not include pulling sheaths
- Document and manage patient care using Sunrise EMR
- Float as needed to Telemetry or Med-Surg units with adjusted patient ratios
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license — any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
- Proficiency with drip titration for cardiac and vasoactive medications
- Ability to work a minimum of 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule
- Flexibility to work holidays as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an Intermediate Care, PCU, or Stepdown unit setting
- Familiarity with Sunrise EMR and Nihon Kohden telemetry monitoring systems
- Experience managing intermediate-acuity cardiac patients including post-cath care and Tikosyn therapy
