Travel RN – PCU/Burn
Location
Kansas City, Missouri
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 13-Week Assignment | 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a mixed-acuity Burn ICU/PCU setting, managing patients from admission through discharge regardless of acuity level
- Perform and assist with unit procedures including debridement, dressing changes, line insertion, chest tube insertion and maintenance, and post-operative procedural care
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using AirStrip technology and manage hemodynamic drips with proficiency in titration
- Conduct bedside shift reports and uphold patient experience standards centered on courtesy, respect, and individualized care
- Collaborate within a strong multidisciplinary team including burn surgeons, nurse practitioners, intensivists, rehabilitation, dietary, pharmacy, and case management
- Float to like units (ICU/PCU/CCU) as needed per floating policy
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of experience in ICU or PCU level of care
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- TNCC certification required
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Experience with Meditech documentation system or comparable EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Burn unit experience strongly preferred
- NIH certification and ABLS certification preferred
- Hemodynamic monitoring and drip titration experience
- Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitoring equipment, and Imobile phone communication systems
