Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide critical care nursing to patients with complex neurological diagnoses in a 32-bed Neuro ICU at a Level 1 Trauma facility
- Monitor and manage patients undergoing craniotomies, brain tumor removal and ablations, brain biopsies, complicated spine surgeries, and scoliosis repair
- Perform and interpret ICP monitoring and EVD management as part of routine neuro critical care
- Operate and monitor patients on mechanical ventilators with respiratory therapy support available 24/7
- Complete SIMs Lab competencies including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, maintaining strict sterile field technique
- Float as needed to ICU, Medical/Surgical, and Telemetry floors with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on Tele
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum of 18 months Neuro ICU experience (candidates with less than 2 years will be considered with at least 18 months of Neuro ICU experience)
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- EVD (External Ventricular Drain) experience required
- Experience in a large hospital setting (450+ beds)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong neuro assessment skills with demonstrated proficiency in ICP monitoring
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR and Phillips monitoring systems
- Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are also encouraged to apply
