Travel RN – Cardiac Step-Down (Night Shift)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to cardiac step-down patients including those with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, and DKA
- Monitor and manage patients post cardiac catheterization, stent placement, pacemaker/ICD implantation, and ablation procedures
- Administer and titrate cardiac IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and diuretics
- Perform and assist with bedside cardioversion and operate unit equipment including Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, and bladder scanners
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
- Float to MedSurg units, other step-down units, COVID unit, and ER holding as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of step-down or progressive care nursing experience
- Telemetry experience required
- Demonstrated experience with titratable and cardiac IV medications
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with prostacyclin therapies such as Flolan, Veletri, or Remodulin
- Prior relief charge nurse experience
