Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed Neuro/Ortho unit with patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1
- Operate and manage Baxter IV pumps, KCI wound vacs, and SCD pumps
- Manage chest tubes and monitor associated patient outcomes
- Administer and monitor non-titrated Cardizem and Amiodarone drips
- Manage weight-based heparin drips in accordance with unit protocols
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Proficiency in general med/surg nursing competencies
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with Meditech EMR
- Telemetry nursing experience
- Familiarity with chest tube management and cardiac drip protocols
