Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
- Design functional treatment programs that support effective patient return to community activities, progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay.
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
- Participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations.
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
- New graduates are welcome to apply
- Ability to evaluate patients and develop clinically reasoned treatment plans and goals
- Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and ethical standards
- Ability to complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience or clinical training in outpatient orthopedics
- Experience with student supervision or clinical education
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development
