Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg Tele/PCU unit serving a diverse patient population including surgical, medical, and telemetry cases
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently; collaborate with remote monitor technicians
• Care for patients with diagnoses including post-surgical recovery (total hip/knee replacement, bowel resection, hysterectomy), COPD, pneumonia, MRSA, C-diff, COVID, chest pain, and withdrawal management
• Manage stable C-PAP and Bi-PAP patients as needed
• Float to Multi Care Unit, Pediatric unit (adult MST patients), and West Campus Med Surg Tele as required
• Precept nursing students as requested by unit leadership

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg experience
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior telemetry experience strongly preferred
• Comfort caring for both Med Surg Tele and PCU-level patients
• Experience precepting nursing students
