Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting with 13 beds plus a fast track area
- Perform triage, medication administration, splinting, and other standard emergency department procedures
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 in the main ED or 1:6 in the fast track (low acuity) area
- Operate and utilize unit equipment including vitals machines, portable EKG machines, glucometers, transport monitors, and Belmont rapid transfusers
- Document accurately using the Meditech EMR system
- Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, and interdisciplinary team members across day, mid, and night shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of previous emergency department experience required — candidates without ED experience will not be considered
- Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, BLS, and PALS
- Ability to wear navy blue scrubs per facility dress code
- Weekend availability as needed; no on-call requirement
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with ultrasound-guided IV placement
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Team-oriented, friendly, and adaptable personality with a can-do attitude
