Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 43-bed cardiac telemetry/stepdown unit with an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 (may flex to 1:6)
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips; unit serves as the central monitor station for the entire North Tower — strip reading proficiency is required
• Titrate Heparin drips and occasionally Lasix or Bumex; manage set-rate drips including Cardizem and Amiodarone
• Perform and interpret EKGs as needed when PCT support is unavailable
• Manage a high-volume, fast-paced unit with approximately 8–12 admissions and 8–12 discharges per day, including completing independent admissions and discharges
• Collaborate within a team-oriented environment; may be floated to other units within the hospital based on census needs, with assignments matched to individual skillset

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in West Virginia or compact state eligibility
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Comfort and experience caring for cardiac stepdown patient populations, including post-heart cath, CHF, COPD, arrhythmias, post-pacer, and TR Band patients
• Ability to titrate Heparin drips independently

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a cardiac telemetry or stepdown setting
• Familiarity with high-flow oxygen therapy and supportive BiPAP/CPAP management
• Experience with high-volume admission and discharge workflows
• Willingness and ability to serve in a charge nurse capacity if comfortable doing so
