Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care across Cardiovascular Telemetry, Neuro Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical units with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4
- Titrate cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and Dobutamine (titration down only)
- Interpret EKGs using centralized telemetry monitoring systems
- Float between Telemetry, Medical-Surgical, ICU, observation floors, and holding areas (including Cath Lab and ER) based on census and skill level; floating between two campuses approximately 9 miles apart may be required
- Care for a diverse patient population including post-cath lab, post-vascular, post-surgical, neurological (CVA, post-craniotomy, spine), and general medical-surgical patients including oncology and orthopedics
- Adhere to weekend rotation requirements (every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period depending on unit) and holiday coverage expectations
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Arizona
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must be able to titrate cardiac drips
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract start (maximum 2 attempts, within 48 hours of offer)
- Must pass a Simulation Lab assessment on day one of orientation
- Must be able to interpret EKGs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS certification (required for Neuro Telemetry unit placement)
- Prior experience in Cardiovascular Telemetry, Neuro, or Medical-Surgical nursing
- Comfort with high-acuity float assignments across multiple unit types and settings
- Experience with GE telemetry monitoring systems or centralized monitoring environments
