Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Travel Contract)

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and arrange necessary equipment prior to surgical procedures
- Serve as circulating RN, assisting surgeons and the surgical team throughout a variety of procedures including robotics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, endovascular, ENT, eye, GI, and laparoscopic cases
- Maintain a 30-minute room turnover time between cases
- Inspect, maintain, decontaminate, and repair surgical equipment; maintain accurate inventory records
- Perform pre- and post-surgical patient care including shaving, transporting, and applying dressings; manage specimen and implant documentation
- Document accurately using Meditech (required); fulfill call requirements including 2 weekend shifts (8 hrs), 4 evening shifts (4 hrs), and 1 overnight shift (8 hrs) per month
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license applicable for practice in Florida
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of current OR experience in an acute hospital setting (surgical center experience does not qualify)
- Strong orthopedic, neurosurgery, and robotics experience; must be willing to float among different OR specialties
- Meditech EMR experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment and function independently
- Experience with advanced surgical platforms including Da Vinci (SP, DV5), Mako, Stealth Neuro navigation, and endovascular hybrid room setups
- Familiarity with burn case protocols, cysto fluid management, and GI tower systems
