Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Expected start November 1, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a stepdown/progressive care unit with patient ratios of 1:3–4 (stepdown) and 1:4–6 (med surg)
- Manage and perform tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes
- Monitor and care for patients on cardiac drips and stable ventilated patients
- Operate unit equipment including lifts, chest tubes, and associated monitoring devices
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
- Float to other med surg and progressive care units as needed; expected schedule includes 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts per 6-week period
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Experience working with tracheostomy patients is required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience with Cerner EMR
- Background in progressive care, stepdown, or IMC settings
- Demonstrated flexibility and high level of clinical competence
