Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Alternating Weekends | Expected schedule includes Friday through Sunday plus one mid-week shift on the Acute Rehab Center (ARC) or acute care side
Key Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy services on a 16-bed Acute Rehab Center (ARC), seeing 3–5 patients per day in 90-minute sessions split into two 45-minute blocks
- Perform neuro re-education, gait training, balance training, wheelchair training, cognitive re-education, vestibular training, energy conservation, BUE/BLE ROM and strengthening, orthotic use and fit, and home safety and family training
- Conduct thorough chart reviews with a solid understanding of lab values, weight-bearing precautions, and medically complex diagnoses including neuro and multi-trauma
- Utilize mobility devices and lift systems including Sara Stedy, Vector, ARJO, and Liko overhead lift; apply back braces, UE/LE positioning devices, and hip/spine/cardiac precautions as appropriate
- Document accurately using EPIC and UDS systems and demonstrate strong time management and clinical reasoning skills
- Float to the acute care side of the facility when ARC census is low; cross-training on the acute side occurs during week two of the assignment
Required Qualifications
- MSPT or DPT degree from an accredited physical therapy program
- Passage of the NPTE (National Physical Therapy Examination)
- Active Utah State Physical Therapy license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist
- Strong understanding of neuro, multi-trauma, and medically complex diagnoses
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous acute rehab or acute care experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience with mobility devices and lift systems (e.g., Sara Stedy, Vector, Liko overhead lift)
- Familiarity with UDS documentation in addition to EPIC
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly across unit assignments and adapt to varying census demands
