Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in a Level II NICU setting for neonates 32 weeks gestational age or greater, including normal newborn admissions
- Attend vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including high-risk deliveries
- Operate and monitor respiratory support equipment including CPAP and BiPAP
- Manage feeding tubes and syringe pumps as part of neonatal care
- Float to sister facilities as needed; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be active and in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience required
- Required certifications: CLS and NRP
- Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
- All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at the time of submittal; post-offer RTO requests may not be considered
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility within this health system must have been separated for a minimum of 3 months prior to being eligible
- 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience attending high-risk deliveries in a NICU or labor and delivery setting
- Familiarity with mother-baby couplet care (travel nurses are not expected to perform this unless competencies are already established)
- Experience with respiratory support modalities including CPAP and BiPAP in a neonatal population
