Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
• Titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results
• Monitor and manage patients on intermittent BiPAP; no ventilator management required
• Utilize telemetry monitoring supported remotely by monitor technicians
• Collaborate with PCTs and a charge RN (with assignment) to deliver patient care at ratios up to 1:7
• Float to other units as needed based on census; travelers are floated first

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license (any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Must be comfortable working at patient ratios up to 1:7
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled (typically every other weekend)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical setting with similar patient populations
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring workflows
• Experience with heparin drip titration protocols
