Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate patient condition and needs, involving patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members as appropriate
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care using the nursing process, including measurable goals and interventions aligned with current nursing practice standards
• Document all relevant patient data, care plans, nursing interventions, and responses to treatment in a systematic and retrievable format
• Collaborate with patients, significant others, and healthcare providers to communicate nursing's role in care delivery, make referrals, and ensure continuity of care including post-discharge planning
• Participate in quality improvement activities, including data collection, policy development, and interdisciplinary team initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes
• Demonstrate leadership by prioritizing and delegating unit and patient care activities, maintaining flexibility in a dynamic healthcare environment, and contributing to the professional development of peers

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania or compact licensure eligibility
• Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS) certification required (must be obtained within four months of end of probationary period if not already held)
• Knowledge of and adherence to ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and the Med-Surg/NAON specialty standards
• Ability to apply the nursing process across assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation phases of patient care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry nursing setting
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and interpretation in an acute care environment
• Experience participating in peer review, quality improvement initiatives, or nursing research activities
