Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit managing diagnoses including acute respiratory failure, CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, and sepsis
• Perform and demonstrate competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement, both of which are required skills for all RNs in this role
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
• Manage patients requiring specialized equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, ventilators, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
• Apply and maintain isolation precautions and non-invasive airway management techniques including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Float within scope to like units to meet facility staffing needs as required

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission (pending licenses are not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation in an acute care setting
• Familiarity with managing patients on BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilator support
• Experience working alongside Patient Care Technicians in a team-based care model
