Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: New York, NY 10029
Department: Cardiac Cath Lab Nursing – MSH
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: 3x12s | 12:00 PM – 12:30 AM (34.5 hours/week)
 

Position Summary: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, high-quality, compassionate care to patients within the Cardiac Cath Lab. Using the principles of Relationship Centered Care and evidence-based practice, the RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires strong critical-thinking skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced procedural environment, and deep cardiac experience.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Deliver patient care using the nursing process and approved nursing standards.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs and apply critical thinking in care planning.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing interventions for cardiac cath lab patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and reassess plans of care.
  • Prioritize care tasks such as teaching, rounding, coaching, and discharge planning.
  • Educate patients and families regarding care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams.
  • Manage patient assignments using the Modified Primary Nursing model.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • NYS RN License – Active
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience
  • Minimum 2 years cardiology/telemetry/procedural RN experience
  • Hospital Cardiac Cath Lab experience – REQUIRED
  • 1 year travel RN experience preferred (not required for PRN)
  • EPIC experience highly preferred
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS

Education

  • BSN Required
  • Associate Degree in Nursing may be considered with relevant experience or active BSN matriculation.
