Emergency Department RN – 12-Hour Days (7a–7p) | Lawrence General / Merrimack Health

Facility: Lawrence General Hospital (Merrimack Valley)
Orientation Dates: January 27 or February 17
Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Local Rule: Local candidates (<50 miles) accepted at adjusted local rate
License Requirement: Permanent MA RN license must be active at submission

Position Overview

Merrimack Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to join the ED team at Lawrence Hospital. This is a high-volume, diverse emergency setting requiring strong clinical skills, rapid assessment ability, and comfort caring for both adults and pediatrics. Pediatric illness volume has been increasing, so pediatric competency is essential.

Travel experience is required.

Required Experience

  • 2+ years recent Emergency Department RN experience
  • Travel RN experience required
  • Must be comfortable caring for all ED patient types, including pediatrics
  • Strong assessment, triage, and stabilization skills

Certifications Required

(Must be active before start)

  • BLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • TNCC

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, comprehensive emergency nursing care for adult and pediatric patients
  • Perform triage, rapid assessments, and stabilization
  • Collaborate with ED physicians, APPs, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Respond to emergent situations according to hospital protocols
  • Deliver patient/family education and support
  • Participate in required orientation and adhere to scheduling expectations

Additional Notes

  • All RTO must be presented at submission
  • Schedule, weekend/holiday requirements, and float expectations may be provided by the unit during interview
  • Must hold MA RN license prior to submittal
