Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) for a fast-paced outpatient infusion center in Santa Rosa, CA. The RN will be responsible for delivering safe and effective infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, antibiotics, biologics, and IV fluids. This role requires strong IV access skills, excellent patient assessment abilities, and experience managing multiple infusions daily.
The unit serves up to 70 patients per day, with each RN managing approximately 6–8 infusions daily.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition, vein health, and infusion readiness
- Review medical history, allergies, and current medications
- Insert and manage peripheral IVs, central lines, ports, and PICC lines
- Prepare and administer IV medications, fluids, chemotherapy, and biologics
- Monitor vital signs and patient responses before, during, and after infusions
- Identify and manage infusion-related complications (infiltration, phlebitis, infection)
- Educate patients and caregivers on infusion therapy and potential side effects
- Document all infusion details accurately and timely
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of infusion nursing experience
- BLS certification
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC)
