CVOR Registered Nurse – Washington, DC
Overview
We are seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse to join a high‑acuity surgical team in Washington, DC. This role supports both day and evening shifts in a Level 1 trauma environment and requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to circulate in complex cardiovascular procedures. Candidates must be comfortable floating to general surgery when CVOR volume is low.

Washington, DC 20010 Local candidates within 60 miles are subject to local rate guidelines.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: February 2, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Options:
- Day: 06:30–19:00
- Evening: 11:00–23:30
- Schedule: 3×12‑hour shifts
- On‑Call Requirements: 6 call shifts per 6‑week schedule
- Weekend/Holiday: One weekend or holiday per 6‑week schedule
- Float Requirement: May float to general surgery if no CVOR cases
- Charting System: Cerner (Preferred)
- Parking: On‑campus parking available
Required Qualifications
- Active DC RN license (pending accepted with proof of application; must be active by start date)
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, including circulating and Level 1 trauma exposure
- Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
- Compliance with facility vaccination requirements, including seasonal flu vaccine
Role Responsibilities
- Provide specialized perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Circulate and support complex cases in a Level 1 trauma setting
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain strict adherence to safety, sterility, and clinical quality standards
- Document accurately within Cerner and follow all facility protocols
- Respond effectively to emergent situations and on‑call needs
