Description
Requirements:
• Active New York State RN License at time of submission (can screen to manager without)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year CVICU experience required
• Cardiac surgery experience REQUIRED (CABG, valve, Swans, IABPs)
• BLS & ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross) – required (can obtain prior to start)
• Prior travel experience preferred, not required
• Must be willing to float within competency
• RTO: Maximum 4 days; no holiday RTO accepted
Job Description:
• Provide high-acuity nursing care in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients coming directly from the OR to ICU
• Manage complex cases including CABG and valve surgeries
• Perform advanced hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz catheters and IABPs
• Maintain 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratios based on acuity
• Float to Stepdown and/or Med-Surg units as needed within scope of practice
• Work in a state-of-the-art 36-bed ICU (24 ICU beds, 12 IMC/stepdown)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a critical care environment
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and documentation standards
• Holidays required as scheduled; no on-call requirement
