Description

Perfusionist – CVOR / ECMO

Days • Call Required

Unit Overview – SBCH Surgery (OR)

High-acuity Cardiac OR performing ~400 hearts/year, including complex aortic arch repairs and TAVR. First case at 07:15. Works with 24/7 in-house anesthesia team.

Schedule

Shifts (07:15 - 17:30)
Call required – 15-min response
Weekend call every other weekend
Overnight call rotates weekly
Float required

Certifications & Hard Stops

BLS, ACLS
Mandatory: Cell Saver, ECMO, Independent ECMO cannulation & management

Skills / Cases

CVOR, CPB (initiation, anticoagulation, temp mgmt)
Aortic valve, CABG, arch repairs, TAVR
Cannulation: femoral, axillary, aorto-bicaval
ECMO setup/management, autologous blood salvage
I-STAT / GEM-STAT / Ultrafiltration

Experience

10+ years required
Must function fully independently; prior Chief or sole Perfusionist experience preferred
First-time travelers accepted only if all hard stops met
