Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step Down
Location: Columbia, MO
Position Type: 13 Weeks (36 or 48 Hours GWW)
Start Date: 03/16/2026
Shift: Days – 07:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Job Description:
Boone Health is seeking experienced PCU/Stepdown RNs only for a quick start opportunity. Floating is required.
Patient Population:
• Surgical (all types)
• Medical (all types)
• Neuro patients (at times)
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3 (not guaranteed)
EMR: Meditech
Clinical Requirements:
Vasoactive Drip Titration – Required:
• Neosynephrine
• Amiodarone
• Cardizem
• Other vasoactive drips
Common Equipment:
• Bladder scanners
• IV pumps / PCA pumps
• SCDs
• BiPAP / CPAP
• Optiflow / Vapotherm / Airvo
Required Skills:
Line Management:
• IV insertion
• PICC/Central line management
• Vascular access care
• Dialysis fistula care
• A-Line management
Airway:
• CPAP/BiPAP
• Trach care
Ortho/Medical:
• Epidural/PCA pumps
• Feeding tubes
• Wound vac
Preferred Skills:
• Obtain 12-lead EKG
• Sheath removal
• Cardioversion/Defibrillation
• CVP monitoring
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years PCU/Stepdown experience
• Active Missouri RN License
• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS
• Holiday coverage required
Additional Terms:
• Guaranteed 36 hours (facility may downstaff 36/48 hrs based on weekly schedule)
• OT starts after 40 hours (By the week)
• No 1099 (W2 only)
• No mileage reimbursement
• No bonuses listed
This is a quick-start opportunity for strong PCU RNs comfortable with high-acuity patients and vasoactive drip titration.
