**Travel RN – PCU / Clinical Decision Unit (D2)

Mission Hospital – Asheville, NC 06:45–19:15 | 13‑Week Contract**

Position Overview

Mission Hospital is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join the D2 Progressive Care / Clinical Decision Unit. This fast‑paced, mixed‑acuity unit manages medical‑surgical and step‑down patients, including short‑stay cases with rapid turnover. The ideal traveler is confident with telemetry, adaptable, and committed to delivering compassionate, patient‑focused care.

Assignment Details

• Position Title: Travel RN – PCU / Clinical Decision Unit (D2)
• Location: Mission Main Campus, D Corridor, 2nd Floor
  • Address: 509 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC
• Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Schedule: Every other weekend
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Start Date: Projected March 9, 2026
• Position Type: Travel – Vacant Position
• Years of Experience Required: 2+ years
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Travelers must float to other units as needed

Unit Information

• Unit: D2 – Clinical Decision Unit / Progressive Care
• Beds: 20
• Staffing:
  • Days: 1 charge RN, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
  • Nights: 1 charge RN, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 (may stretch to 1:6 depending on acuity)
• Patient Population:
  • Mixed medical‑surgical and step‑down
  • Short‑stay patients (<24 hours)
  • High turnover environment
• Equipment: Hardwired telemetry for all monitored patients
• EMR: Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Experience:
  • Telemetry competency
  • Progressive Care experience required
  • Recent PCU experience strongly preferred

Preferred Skills

• Strong recent progressive care background
• Comfort with rapid turnover and mixed acuity
• Ability to manage telemetry‑monitored patients safely and efficiently
