Description
Position Summary:
The CAT/CT Scan Technologist is responsible for producing high‑quality computerized tomographic (CT) radiographs of specific anatomical areas as ordered by a physician. These cross‑sectional images provide vital diagnostic information about soft tissues, blood vessels, and bones. The technologist ensures safe, efficient imaging procedures while maintaining exceptional patient care standards.
This role includes obtaining patient medical history, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and performing a range of specialized CT tasks while adhering to all regulatory, safety, and clinical standards.
Position Details:
- Modality: CT Technologist
- Shift: 5PM–5AM (Nights)
- Shift Days: Friday–Sunday (Weekends)
- Hours/Week: 36 hours
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (option for 26 weeks)
- Start Date: 03/16/2026
- Equipment Experience: Siemens CT scanners required
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT procedures to capture high‑quality diagnostic images as ordered by physicians.
- Operate CT equipment safely and efficiently, including Siemens systems (required).
- Obtain and document patient history relevant to imaging procedures.
- Explain procedures clearly and compassionately to patients; address questions and concerns.
- Position patients properly for imaging and provide full patient care as needed.
- Work collaboratively with emergency, trauma, and inpatient teams.
- Maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and local imaging regulations.
- Ensure all imaging documentation is accurately entered into EMR systems (Cerner preferred).
- Follow safety protocols for radiation exposure, infection control, and trauma environments.
- Assist with trauma cases, including Level I and II emergencies (gunshot wounds, stab wounds, major motor vehicle accidents).
- Work effectively with inmate populations when required by the facility.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of CAT/CT Technologist experience (required)
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient hospital experience
- Siemens CT scanner experience (required)
- Trauma experience with Level I and Level II cases (e.g., gunshot wounds, stab wounds, major MVAs)
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid California diagnostic imaging licensure (required)
- A.R.R.T. Certification in CT (required)
- BLS certification
Additional Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Comfortable working with inmate populations
- Comfortable providing full patient care responsibilities
