Job Description

Position / Specialty: OR RN

Shift: 5x8 (0700-1530)
END DATE: End of May/Early June
Call Requirements: Call is pre-assigned by the coordinator. Each full-time employee is expected to take 1-2 shifts a week
Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekend days per 8 week schedule
Holiday Requirement: Agency staff will have the option to pick up a holiday call assignment or fill in a gap if there is a need


Main OR: Preferably has experience doing Ophthalmology (scrubbing and circulating) and
DaVinci Robotic cases for general surgery



Ratios: 1:1 for all shifts. 16 rooms, 16 beds.
Years of experience REQ: Minimum 2 years experience required
First-timers accepted: NO

Certs REQ: BLS required. CNOR preferred.

Locals accepted: Yes- no radius.
Pending License accepted: No- must have active IL license to apply.
RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
Guaranteed Hours: 40

Special Requirements: Vascular and ophthalmology experience required. Vascular call experience required. General OR experience required. CVOR & Hybrid OR experience preferred. Required Surgery Case Experience: Endo/Laparoscopic, General, Ophthalmology, Urology, Vascular. Required Vascular Skills/Experience: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Aortocaval fistula repair, Aortoenteric fistula repair, Arteriovenous fistula repair, Arteriovenous malformation surgery, Atherectomy, Carotid angioplasty, Carotid artery stenting, Carotid Endarterectomy, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, Femoral popliteal bypass graft, Renal artery bypass surgery, Scrub Vascular Surgery, TEVAR (Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair), Vein stripping. Required General Surgery Skills/Experience: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Scrub General Surgery, Thyroidectomy partial/total. Required Ophthalmology skills/experience: Cataract extraction/implant, Eye trauma, Glaucoma surgery, Vitrectomy, Scrub Ophthalmology Surgery. Required Urology skills/experience: Cystoscopy. Trauma amputation experience required. Required Equipment/Supplies/Instrumentation Experience: Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords. Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Administration of blood products, Cardiac Monitoring, Infection control, Laser safety, Radiation safety, Specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure.
