ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Location: Springfield, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Seeking experienced ICU Registered Nurses for a Medical Intensive Care and Neuro Critical Care Unit. This is a float position covering Medical HVCC, SICU, and IMC units. The ICU is a 32-bed unit licensed for Neuro Critical Care patients, split between two floors. Staffing ratios are typically 1:2, with 1:1 for high acuity patients.

Patient Cases Include:

  • Sepsis
  • End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) & Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) requiring CRRT/CVVH
  • Post cardiac arrest care
  • Respiratory failure

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience, including ICU experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Certifications:
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

  • Must be located outside a 90-mile radius from the facility
  • Willingness to accept 48-hour contracts
  • Strong ICU nursing background required; new graduates with only 1 year experience may be considered too inexperienced for this unit
