Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Pediatric Perfusionist to assume responsibility and accountability for the safe operation and management of cardiopulmonary bypass equipment and related extracorporeal circulation systems for pediatric patients. The Perfusionist collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the broader surgical team to assess, plan, and implement patient-specific perfusion strategies before, during, and after cardiac surgical procedures.

The Pediatric Perfusionist demonstrates strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and technical expertise in the delivery of perfusion services, including circulatory support, myocardial protection, blood conservation techniques, and physiologic monitoring. The Perfusionist consistently performs according to professional standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements while ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a high-acuity pediatric setting.

Minimum Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion training program
• Bachelor’s degree in Perfusion Technology, Life Sciences, or an Allied Health specialty (e.g., Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Technology) preferred and/or as required by state or contract regulations
• Current Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) credential
• Active Maryland CCP license (required)
• Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Cardiovascular Perfusionist preferred (pediatric experience strongly preferred)
• Current CPR/BLS certification, as applicable
• Current Health Certificate, per contract or state regulation
• TB screening (TB Questionnaire, PPD, or Chest X-ray), per contract or state regulation
• Must meet all federal, state, and local compliance requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Full command of the English language, both verbal and written
